It is too expensive.
It is too time
consuming to make healthy meals.I am too busy.
I just want to enjoy what I eat.
I’m not a rabbit.
If bacon isn’t “allowed”,
I don’t want any part of this.
I hate salad.
My family won’t eat
“healthy” foods, so what’s the point?
While some of these may seem silly, I bet a few of them
hit home. I’m here to tell you that despite these ways of thinking, you really
can eat GOOD, SATISFYING food on a budget.
Hi, my name is
Shannon, and I am a meal prepper. It all
started when I decided to break the endless cycle of mindless eating. Man, I was I really good at it! I thought that “healthy food” meant food I
cooked at home. That included
pre-packaged food, frozen meals, boxed mac & cheese (we love that liquid
gold!), and so many calories it’s a wonder any of us could walk.
Despite wanting to eat better, I found myself still
grabbing for the old standbys. It was so
easy to pop in a Stouffer’s meal at the end of the day, whip up a box of mac
& cheese, make some broccoli and call it a day. My family would devour it, which as you know
is a total mom success!
What I found was the food we were eating wasn’t properly
fueling our bodies. I suffered from
energy crashes, headaches, weight gain (no surprise there) despite going to the
gym 5 days a week. My children were
gaining weight and feeling crappy as well.
Fast forward to now.
I found that meal prepping allows me to make conscious decisions about
what I needed to eat, and allowed me to prep it in advance, so I would always
have the convenience of grabbing a meal when I needed it. The best part? It’s not nearly as expensive as I thought it
would be.

Week of Meals for Under $50!
