Okay, let’s admit it.
It’s COLD outside! With Coweta
County Schools closed today and tomorrow due to the weather, and the fact that
the kids have been out of school now for well over 2 weeks now, some of us are
looking for things to keep the kids entertained that don’t include venturing
out into the frigid temperatures.
If your kids are like mine, they love their tablets (and our
phones). Sticky fingers aside, here are
some of the top (free) apps for kids. Maybe
some of these will help you make it through these few days of icy temperatures
with (most of) your sanity still intact.
My personal favorite - Kid Mode: Kids Games + Videos
can transform your Android into a kid-friendly phone for even the
youngest app enthusiasts -- if you set the lock and filter options
correctly. The app is the mobile companion for the Zoodles
kid browser. Different options and levels of access can be set for
multiple kids to customize games, videos, and access to your phone's
other apps.
Top Free Apps for Kids – Search based on age range, or view
everything, includes links to download the apps. Great list of games for your little ones that won’t break the bank. This site also includes ratings for each of the apps so you know exactly what you are downloading. Multiple platforms featured so whether you are an Apple or Android home, this is the site for you!
The Top 16 Educational Apps are great for keeping your kids
entertained while they continue to learn.
This list of (get ready for it…) 349 of the Top Free KidsApps features all of the best kid apps out there. Search by maker (Disney, Lego, Fisher Price,
ABC Mouse and more) or ranking. Filled
with information on in-app purchases (warns you about them), ease of play, and
even which apps donate to charity, this is a great resource for finding great
apps.
