
It’s that time of year again! As December nears, so do Christmas events throughout Coweta County. If you are looking for local, family events this year, check out these:
December 2 – A Chattahoochee
Candy Cane Christmas in Franklin starts at 5pm.
Christmas parade begins at 6:30pm.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will ride into town and will be on hand at the
"North Pole" (the gazebo) for children to tell him what they want for
Christmas. A photographer will be available. Kids of all ages can also have
their picture taken with the Grinch. There will be Christmas entertainment
throughout the night from the stage in front of Capt. Billy's restaurant.
December 3 –
Grantville’s 2nd Annual Christmas Parade begins at 3:30pm. Tree lighting to follow. Photos with Santa will be available at Hippie
Chicks from 4:30-7pm.
December 3 –
Light Up Senoia Celebration beginning at 4pm in downtown Senoia. A food court with pizza, funnel cakes, cotton
candy and homemade goodies opens at 4 p.m., and there will be live music, and
entertainment by local schools, businesses and civic groups. For the kids,
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there, along with pony rides, Santa's Workshop,
and the lighting of the big tree at Main Street Square near the gazebo. The "Light Up Senoia" parade begins
at 5:30 p.m.
December 4 –
Downtown Newnan will host its Annual Christmas Parade beginning at 3pm. All are invited to sit down by the hearth and
have some hot chocolate, as this year's theme is "Home for the
Holidays." See floats, walking groups, decorated cars and trucks, and
marching bands.
December 9 – Main
Street Newnan will host its 2011 Cookie Crumble event from 5-9pm. The Cookie Crumble is a family-friendly event
that enables attendees an opportunity to enjoy a beautiful evening in downtown
Newnan. All attendees will receive a
holiday-themed homemade baked cookie or dessert from each participating
merchant. Tickets $5.
December 10 –
Haralson will host a small town Christmas Celebration Parade, Tree Lighting and
a fundraiser benefiting Angel’s House.
Doors open at 9am. Taps RC Racing
(213 Highway 85, Haralson) will host a remote control racing event. Santa will be there from 2-4:30pm for visits
with the kids and photos. The Christmas
Parade will begin at 5pm. Christmas Tree
lighting to follow.
December 11 – Senoia
Candlelight Tour of Homes from 5-8pm. Tickets
are $12 in advance or $15 the day of the tour, and are available in downtown
Senoia at Gail's Antiques, Senoia Coffee & Café, Beyond the Door and Second
Hand Sam's. They can also be purchased that evening at the Church of God of
Prophecy at Main and Johnson streets.
